Bönnsche Chinese at the KHS

In the spirit of international understanding and in keeping with the fifth season, classes 6a and 9b received a visit from Mr. Andreas Butter and Ms. Li-Ying Chen-Butter from the “Bönnsche Chinese” carnival club. Together they presented the program for Bonn's big Shrove Monday procession and presented a traditional head of a Chinese lucky dragon, hand-made in the capital of China, Beijing. This is carried by many people when moving and has a total length of 16 meters.

The students listened with interest to the explanations given by Mr. and Mrs. Butter and then peppered them with a few questions. The visit ended with the distribution of fortune cookies, which the visit had brought especially for the Hedwig students.

"It was a great pleasure for me to meet so many nice young people, and I look forward to seeing some of them again on the Shrove Monday procession when it's finally 'Bonn alaaf! “Ms. Li-Ying Chen Butter commented afterwards.
