Some classes at the KHS St. Hedwig can get to know drama, opera and the orchestra as extracurricular places of learning over a period of three years through the permanent educational partnership with the Theater Bonn. Each school year, the selected classes focus on a different art form from the areas of theatre, opera or concert visits as well as the appropriate accompanying program. In the first year, a visit to the theater is planned, in the second year a visit to the opera and in the third year a visit to a concert with the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn.

The pupils of the KHS St. Hedwig should be able to exchange ideas with older people in different grades as part of a social project during their school career. The start of the partnership between KHS St. Hedwig and the Josefshöhe retirement home was based on a suggestion from schoolchildren to carry out the upcoming project with elderly people. With the usual prejudices about older people, most students - some for the first time - entered a nursing home. Residents and students sit in the garden, eat together, have fun playing board games, do concentration and memory exercises together and talk about their lives. Under supervision, the students work together to organize the leisure activities for the residents for 90 minutes a week. The conclusion of the students is that old people are also mentally fit and active and can pass on interesting experiences to young people. As a result of this project, which has been successful for seniors and students, some students have the desire to learn the profession of geriatric nurse.
